On the 5th of February 2020, a meeting was conducted between Prof. Diofantos Hadjimitsis, research scientists Dr. Christiana Papoutsa and Mr. Andreas Christofe and the Director of Asteroscholeio Mr. Giorgos Tzivas to present the main activities of the EXCELSIOR Project. The meeting was organised by the Cyprus University of Technology and took place at the Hilton Hotel in Nicosia. The discussion was focused on the education sector and several common activities and actions related to the promotion of Earth Observation and Remote Sensing techniques for young students (primary & secondary school) were proposed. During the meeting Mr. Tzivas stated that it would be a great opportunity for the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence and Asterscholeio to organize common activities in the framework of the EXCELSIOR Project which it would benefit the students and the society such as workshops, presentations to schools using the Earth Balloon Programme, common activities during Earth Hour, etc.
