Marina PEKRI

Education: Mrs. Marina Pekri is currently a PhD candidate in the field of Satellite Altimetry at the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics at CUT. She holds a BSc “Survey Engineering and Geomatics” and a MSc, with distinction, in “Geoinformatics and Geospatial Technologies” from the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT).

Professional background / participation in funded projects: Mrs. Marina Pekri is a Research Associate and member of the research team of Dr Chris Danezis in CUT Laboratory of Geodesy and Hydrographic Surveying. Currently she participates in the funded project ‘THAL-CHOR 2’ (Marine Spatial Planning in Cyprus). She has worked as a Research Associate at Electricity Authority of Cyprus, being responsible in updating the servers in ArcGIS environment. Apart from that, she has attended the planning department, designing the infrastructures static plans. Also, she has been trained as a land surveyor at the Department of Lands and Surveys. Furthermore, she has been trained in ArcGIS platform (ArcGIS I, ArcGIS II, Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro) at Marathon Data Systems in Athens. Amongst others she is a member of the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (ETEK).

Research interests: Her research focuses on Marine Geodesy, Satellite Altimetry, Radar, GIS, Remote Sensing.
