The team members of the EXCELSIOR Project Ms. Eleni Loulli, Ms. Maria Prodromou and Mr. Dimitris Antoniadis presented the SOFIA project at High School Makarios A’ Paphos. There they informed the students of the opportunities to watch the presentations and participate in the workshops and school competition that are organised under the SOFIA ESA-PECS project. They mentioned the opportunities for the young researchers to get involved with Earth Observation and Remote Sensing utilising the freely available Sentinels family satellite data in order to monitor the environment and develop their services. Finally they highlighted the importance of the development of the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence which has received funding by the Horizon 2020 Widespread Teaming Phase 2 ‘EXCELSIOR’ and the job opportunities that will be created.
