On May 11, 2021, our colleague Konstantinos Panagiotou was hosted by Logos radio.
There, he talked about the evolution of climate change in the wider region of the Eastern Mediterranean and the challenges that Cyprus Cyprus in relation to water resources management. He gave an overview of the research activities that are implemented to address these challenges and the importance of remote sensing for the retrieval of big data, referring also to the satellite ground receiving station and the ground-based atmospheric remote sensing station of the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence. Konstantinos explained how we process remote sensing data to draw useful conclusions about various phenomena.
He also addressed the importance of groundwater monitoring and quality control and the need for further development of innovative techniques to optimize water resources management.
